ABOUT

Hi! I'm Jess Meatto. I provide psychotherapy using an integrative approach that considers the needs and strengths of each client. Going to therapy is a brave act, and I offer a non-judgmental, heart-centered space for clients to process feelings, develop insight and self-acceptance, and feel more empowered. Through our work together, you'll gain perspective and learn evidence-based strategies and skills to address your unique challenges.

I have worked with a diverse range of clients in various hospitals and agencies, and currently supervise early-career therapists in NYC's public hospital system, in addition to working with adult clients in private practice.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of New York.
I received a Master of Social Work degree (MSW) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Literature from
New College of Florida.

I have received additional training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with other therapeutic modalities. I have also completed a full EMDRIA-approved program in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and enjoy using it to help clients achieve relief from distressing memories, thoughts, and feelings. EMDR is an extensively researched form of psychotherapy that taps into a person's innate capacity to heal. It is a highly effective treatment for PTSD, addiction, phobias, and many other symptoms. For more on EMDR, please visit About EMDR Therapy - EMDR International Association (emdria.org).
